Fine impression. Heinrich Scherer was a devout Jesuit, and professor of mathematics at Munich. His 'Atlas Novus' contained eleven world maps and maps of all other parts which showed the spread of Catholocism and Jesuit missions. Finely engraved by either Leonard Hecknauer, Joseph � Montalegre, or Matthäus Wolffgang.
